I have been a long time user and lover of The OMNI Group's software. They are expert at human interface. Just the thought of using omnigraffle on an iPad magically redeems the device. I fear for the gamble though, I believe building out their applications to be accessed over the web is the move that would bring their tools to everyone.

It gives me an uneasy feeling of excitement, knowing that it is absolutely the wrong move for the future of the web and for app producers everywhere, but also knowing that it is likely to yield a magnetic and engaging creative experience like we've never seen before.

It is a shame OMNI does not realize they can deliver the same user experience on every touch interface on the planet including the iPad, if they work within open standards and not just in Apple's garden.

Likely Apple's iPad will receive recognition for something OMNI could easily do in their own right for everyone. I may buy an iPad just for the OMNI experience. They are that good. Apple is lucky to have a company like them firmly seated in the front row of the iShow, where the opportunity in the field is most obscured.
