RANT: HULU backlash underway

In a recent blog post Hulu's CEO Jason Kilar spoke about why he pulled Hulu content from Boxee.
If you didn't know, Boxee.org is the free open source media center that rivals AppleTV and anything Microsoft could muster. It's socially aware (friend lists, twitter, statuses, see what friends are watching, watch it yourself etc) and it has some great content from some great providers. Ask me for an invite to the private alpha.

I posted a comment to HULU's blog, that I don't think they are going to approve. I've pasted it below. It's good reading if you want to know who you're dealing with when you say Hulu.
RE: Doing Hard Things
What do you mean there's no immediate win for the users? Of course there is not. You've taken my personal ability to watch Hulu in my bedroom. You've also taken quite a bit more from the Boxee community. Ad impressions and all.
Moves like this are not user-focused whatsoever. It betrays you to lament:
"The maddening part of writing this blog entry is that we realize that there is no immediate win here for users"
How about realizing the loss? To all parties. That would make me think you cared.
This move makes me think you're in someone's pocket. Making a move to deflate the open competitor to AppleTV, Front Row and MS Media Center by pulling the best content, and blaming it on "Our content providers...".
It doesn't make sense for them to pull it from an ad-enabled audience. I don't believe you. You're lying.
Furthermore, if this is how you spend your considerable influence, cow-towing to the man and passing the buck, then enjoy the sun while it lasts. Because you're squandering your attention-market capital.
There is one social network enabled media center, just one. Where people can see what their friends are watching, watch it themselves, and have media consuming community. Just One.
Boxee has legitimately pulled ahead of Front Row, AppleTV and MS Media Center. And you, HULU, You just ditched the future of commercial media consumption, to be a part of the effort to cripple them.
You could have said no and they would have dropped it. Your f*#ing HULU.
