This morning I spent fifteen minutes on a short piece to honor the
people who work for the day an open and free mind is possible. Today
it is not. Even my own mind, curious and capable as it is, even my own
mind is shaped by the information available and, at present, our
available information is shaped more by people's fear of one another
than by people's belief in one another. We don't ask, or tell, we dont
speak truth to power, we say almost nothing to each other, and expect
to be left alone.

This is the biggest leak, the truth that our world view, yours, mine
and everyone on the planet's are shaped by the untruth of the fear we
have married. For security, we have blinded our world with the fear of
others. Today, we do not allow ourselves to know the world. Our
perspectives have been tainted by this, and all that we think we know
is suspect. We are likely a lost generation of people who will not
experience life in it's fullest potential, we can only work so that
one day our children or children's children will see the world we have
hidden from and choose not to hide it from their own children.

...continue to vision a future without war or poverty. Do
not give up on life.

I hold no human responsible for this and condemn no one. We are all
faced with the same condition. Continue to foster cooperation,
continue to grow peace, continue to vision a future without war or
poverty. Do not give up on life. Invest your time and effort in
developing a love of human beings in all their wondrous diversity. No
matter how they behave or what extent they go to hide the truth. Be
compassionate. The truth is like the sun, people cannot keep it from
rising and of all the "walking wounded" in our war with ourselves,
there are none more tragic than those suffering a life lived in fear
of the truth.
