Andy Rubin, through everything, has remained focused on the subjects that bring the most value to the consumer. I really admire his vision.
For mobile connected devices the destination is still the internet. It's always the internet. --And I'll tell you something, the internet–cloud computing; there are processes working on your behalf when the phone is in your pocket, powered off.
The seeds have been planted... It's an ecosystem. ...remember when mashups became really interesting? ..it wasn't Google's idea, we made it possible. That's happening with Android, with things like Motorola's new phones and apps...
Responding to the question "is Android older than the iPhone os?, is it the 1st operating system from Google?"
When a company hires a computer scientist to build an operating system, they're usually experienced in creating operating systems. They've done it before. That's cumulative. So Android is definitely not the first operating system that Google has developed... These are really platforms anyway, it's just today that we call these operating systems.
