In The 6 Months Since I Closed The Lab, 11|3L3V3N Happened

SidGabriel — Fri, 11/25/2011 - 23:18

A research technologist named Sid Gabriel went to Hawaii for a
technical gig and when he returned he noticed that he had transformed.
No longer was he needing to "work the kinks out" of his technology. No
longer was he in need of (or in possession of) a lab in which to work.
He simply had the coolest visual communication and near field reality
augmentation platforms in existence,... as it were,.. in his pocket.
Not only that, but in Hawaii He had experienced visions, induced by

SixthSense Tempers Hype With Wonder In The Field of Augmented Reality

SidGabriel — Thu, 11/19/2009 - 11:44

I remember a time when the AR news was not about consumer products and was read in little pockets of the internet and amongst "Kit" obsessed übergeeks who strapped cameras to their heads and wore "wearable computers" which, at the time, were backpacks with pcs in them. They wanted to show everyone how cool it was, but your average person, is unwilling to wear a backpack computer with a camera on a bike helmet and walk into a public place anywhere.

Critical Relativity: Twitter's Sentiment Paradox

SidGabriel — Wed, 11/18/2009 - 07:34

When I posted the original article "Critical Fault: Twitter's Sentiment Paradox" I sent it to a colleague I respect, who in turn forwarded it to one of his colleagues he respects, who wrote: "My quick opinion is that I don't buy it, I'm afraid. Sorry, Sid." he followed, speaking of the Twitter sentiment analysis companies as "people I don't think deserve to be called Charlatans." And He's right. I called the entire field charlatans. He sent me a couple links to companies that it would be mean spirited to throw in with the bad guys. So I have some apologizing and retracting to do.

Android, iPhone, BlackBerry and Palm WebOS Developers Conveine on 7/26

SidGabriel — Sat, 07/18/2009 - 01:24

The InsideMobile Conference is the only wireless and mobile developer conference that brings together all of the platforms shaping the mobile computing explosion. TTTV will be there with crew getting video of all the sessions and running as many QIK streams as we can. The InsideMobile is in Silicon Valley at the eBay Conference Center.

I'm not sure what products will be announced, but it's definitely an "Epicenter" event. Not to be missed by developers. I have two passes (valued at $250 each) that I'll be raffling off to my twitter followers Saturday at 9pm. Follow SIDGABRIEL to enter into the drawing. (http://twitter.com/sidgabriel)

See you at the event!
